XII Edition of the CINDE Job Fair Attracted 6.760 Attendees

February 21, 2016. With a total attendance of 6.760 people, the most important multilingual job fair in the country, CINDE Job Fair 2016, concluded its twelfth edition.

Participating companies have expressed their satisfaction with the attendees English level. According to Idioma Internacional www.idiomacr.com, the company that conducted English assessments, preliminary results show an improvement in intermediate, advanced intermediate and advanced levels.

The Fair that took place from Friday the 19th until Sunday the 21st, became the ideal bridge to bring those looking for a job opportunity together with 64 multinational companies with recruitment needs. During its three days, the Fair had an average daily attendance of about 2,200 people.

“CINDE Job Fair has achieved the objective of becoming a scenario that provides an opportunity for technicians and professionals to approach companies in various fields. The online pre-registration site www.cindejobfair.com, has been an important tool to accelerate the recruitment process, it has also provided attendees with a guide on what the participating companies offer and their available jobs, in order with the purpose of having a planned visit according to their training and skills, “said Vanessa Gibson, Director of Corporate Development and Investment Climate of the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, CINDE.

“We have had many visits and interest in the world of freelancers; we’ve come to fill a niche that needs help connecting to companies that want to publish projects to freelancers who are looking for jobs, thus we are a tool to facilitate this union. We are very satisfied with people’s response, they are fascinated with the existence of such an easy system. Just at the fair we have recorded about a thousand applications, “said Carolina Ortiz, CEO of Beehired.

Ariel Vargas, General Manager of VMware Costa Rica said: “This year was very interesting because it gave us a greater insight into those people that are actually looking for a job, who came with a very accurate English assessment matching their profile; we also found people in different business areas that we did not see in previous years. We think it has been pretty good because in the last four years that we have been involved in the fair, the methodology has changed, it is much more organized this year, we were able to speak a little more with the candidate, understanding their profile a little better while taking less time to register them in our system, “he said.

Data by Sykes, a participating company, show that more than 600 interviews were scheduled with attendees, which will be subsequently evaluated as potential candidates for a position within the company.

In the coming days, companies will begin the process of analyzing the submitted resumes to choose candidates who will join their organizations.

“We have about 300 applications from people who showed interest in the positions that we are offering. The next step is to contact those who fit the positions we are looking for, we will call in the next two weeks to carry out a technical interview with our staff, “said Jose Ledezma, with Object Technology Solutions.

64 companies participated in the twelfth edition of the multilingual CINDE Job Fair, which provided three thousand career options in 35 technical and professional areas such as Customer Service, Technical Support, Accounting, Computer Engineering, Finance (Financial Analysis); Networks, Business Administration, operators, vendors, Interpreters, several Technicians, Software Development and Programming.
