Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated Announces Aggressive Move to Capture International Markets
- Creates New International Division
- Appoints Ernest Milani as Acting General Managing Director of Division
Tampa, Florida, January 12, 1997 — Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated (SEi) (Nasdaq:SYKE), a leading provider of diverse information technology services, announced today the creation of a separate International Division and the appointment of Ernest J. Milani as Acting General Managing Director. Mr. Milani will oversee all international operations and report directly to John Sykes, Chief Executive Officer of Sykes Enterprises. This appointment is on an interim basis while a search for a permanent General Managing Director is underway.
Commenting on the new divisional arrangement, John Sykes, Chief Executive Officer, said, “International markets are an integral part of our long-term growth strategy. The current and anticipated growth in the international market demands the creation of a distinct international division run by Ernest J. Milani. It will enable Sykes to better serve our clients on a global scale, investigate new emerging markets and introduce new products and services to our business mix.”
Mr. Sykes added, “We are confident that, through Ernest Milani’s leadership and expertise in foreign markets, we can significantly grow our newly created International Division within the next few years, particularly in Europe and Asia.”
Mr. Milani, 67, and a member of the Board of Directors of SEi, was previously President of CDI Corp.-Northeast and Technical Services Ltd. of Canada. CDI Corporation is one of the world’s largest engineering and technical services firms with offices throughout Europe and the United States. During his tenure at CDI, which spans over 20 years, Mr. Milani served as President of CDI International, and President of Compdata Services Corp., which is CDI’s data processing and information support firm. Mr. Milani has an extensive career of over 40 years in engineering, management and outsourcing consultation.
SEi, a diversified information technology company, with more than 3,000 employees, provides a variety of computer-related outsourcing services to Fortune 500 firms. SEi’s business includes third party hardware and software support, help desk services, systems consulting, documentation development and foreign language localization.
